We’re pleased to announce that we’re working closely with our food and beverage partner, SSA, to create a zero-waste Icebreaker event. During the Icebreaker, enjoy access to our award-winning habitats featuring hundreds of animal species from all over the world. Journey through dozens of unique aquatic habitats—from an Indo-Pacific reef to the Amazon River Forest—all interconnected by the binding force of water. From close-up animal encounters at the Blacktip Reef underwater viewing area to the one-of-a-kind Australia exhibit, you will see some of the world’s most unique animals. After strolling through the four levels of Blue Wonders, walk across the bridge to Dolphin Discovery and Jellies Invasion while enjoying sweeping views of Baltimore's Inner Harbor. Note: the Amazon Rain Forest is currently scheduled to be closed for exterior glass replacement.

The Aquarium is located downtown and is walkable from all Conference hotels. There will be limited motorcoach transportation traveling continually between the Convention Center to the Aquarium and back to the Center from 5:30 PM to 9:15 PM.

The Aquarium is offering free admission for Conference attendees beginning on Sunday, August 28, and running through Friday, September 2. You must present your Conference badge for admission.

Zoo Day at the Maryland Zoo

Thursday, September 1, 12:00 pm - 8:00 pm
One ticket is included in a full registration. Daily registration DOES NOT include a ticket. Additional tickets are available for $95 each. Children ages 3-11 are $50 additional. No ticket needed for children under 3. Zoo Day guests must also comply with the vaccination policy.

After two years of virtual annual conferences, the Maryland Zoo is pulling out all the stops for an unforgettable Zoo Day.

As you enter from the Main Gate you’ll travel through a history lesson in zookeeping, past century-old cages that have been converted into teaching tools about changing animal habitats. From there, descend into the modern zoo where you will experience our award-winning African penguin facilities, see the fission/fusion model in practice with our chimpanzee team, tour our recently-renovated elephant barn, and join an open house with our critically endangered Panamanian golden frogs.

Founded in 1876 and set amid old-growth forest in the heart of Baltimore, we're one of the oldest zoos in the country. But don't let our age fool you. The Maryland Zoo is at the forefront of animal care and conservation with six Signature Animal Programs and a cutting-edge hospital and cryobank.
Complimentary lunch and dinner will highlight Maryland’s best local ingredients and seafood specialities, along with craft cocktails and live entertainment.

Baltimore is known as Charm City for a reason. While our Zoo Day programming feeds your mind, our hospitality will feed your soul. We can't wait to see you in person!

Thank you to the Zoo Day Title Sponsor, SSA, and all the great partners who are supporting the event.

Complimentary motorcoaches will operate between the Convention Center and the zoo. Look for the A-frame signage near Charles & Pratt streets. In the morning, they will run continuously from 11:30 AM until 1:30 PM. During the middle of the day, Convention Center pick-up happens on the hour and returns from the zoo on the half hour. At the end of Zoo Day, the buses will run continuously back to the Convention Center from 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM.

The Zoo is offering free admission for Conference attendees beginning on Sunday, August 28. You must present your Conference badge for admission.
