TAG, SSP, SAG, SAFE, and Committee Meeting Schedule

Access to all meetings, live or on-demand, is included with a Full Annual Conference registration. Daily registrants and those not registered for the Full Annual Conference must register separately for Meeting Weeks and pay a $25 registration fee (member and non-member rate). This registration fee provides access to all live open meetings and on-demand viewing for 90 days. Register today for the Full Annual Conference or Meeting Weeks.

Once you are registered for the Full Annual Conference or Meeting Weeks, login to the Attendee Service Center to gain access to the Zoom pre-registration links for all meetings during Meeting Weeks. Pre-registration for meetings September 8-16, is required. Once your Zoom pre-registration is approved, you'll be emailed your unique join link.

Meeting pre-registration closes at midnight, for all meetings taking place the following day. For example, if you want to attend a meeting on Tuesday, September 7, you must pre-register before midnight EDT on Monday, September 6.

Topics of discussion will include individual SSP updates from Program Leaders, SAFE updates, and veterinary updates, as well as updates from various initiatives, such as Strategic Planning, Research Review, the website, the development of an Ape TAG Mixed-Species Manual, and the Regional Collection Plan. The Chimpanzee Species Survival Plan (SSP) management team will host an open meeting to discuss strategic planning updates. Topics will include the latest Breeding & Transfer Plan, Veterinary updates, the Chimpanzee Assisted Reproduction Taskforce (CART), the species’ Breeding Depression task force, the recently published Birth Management template, the Assisted Rearing manual, the Chimpanzee Husbandry Advisory Team (CHAT), and the updated SSP website. The meeting is meant to be an open discussion, where all interested parties are welcome to join and share thoughts/ideas/feedback!

During this session you will be introduced to professional development through the Volunteer Management Committee and the Council for Certification in Volunteer Administration and hear about AZA’s 5th promise and DEAI work in relation to volunteer management. Additionally, we will take a deep dive into self-care and how to prioritize our own wellness, learn time management skills, and get tools and strategies for managing and preventing burnout.
