The virtual Conference will take place on Eastern Daylight Time (EDT), UTC-4. All times listed on the schedule are in EDT.

All you need is a web browser and internet connection! Chrome or Firefox are recommended. Internet Explorer is not supported.

Yes, we will have live technical support available during the virtual Conference.

We recommend performing a system test prior to the live Conference, to minimize distractions from your participation. You can perform this Quick Tech Check here!

During Conference dates, September 14-18, registered attendees will access live sessions and programming from the virtual site, virtual.aza.org/agenda.

Watching a session is easy! A few minutes before a session begins, click the "Join Broadcast" button to join the session!

Yes! The virtual Conference will include several general sessions with keynote speakers, concurrent sessions organized by track, poster presentations, a virtual Exhibit Hall, roundtable discussions, evening networking happy hours, and more!

Committee, Animal Program, Scientific Advisory Group (SAG), and Saving Animals from Extinction (SAFE) meetings will take place September 8-11, the week prior to the virtual Conference. Registration is not required.

No, workshops will not be offered with the virtual Conference. But AZA is looking into options for offering virtual professional development workshops in the future. Stay tuned for more information!

Yes, all registered attendees will receive access to presentation recordings for up to 90 days after the virtual Conference.


For individuals that are employed by a zoo, aquarium, non-profit organization, educational institution, or government agency, membership is not required.  However, individual members of AZA save significantly on their registration fee! Learn more about AZA membership.

Commercial Membership is required for individuals employed by a commercial entity (a company that provides products or services to zoos and aquariums, including consultants). Consultants or individuals representing a commercial entity that is not a current Commercial Member, Conservation Partner, or Exhibitor, are NOT eligible to register for the conference. Non-member registration is only open to individuals employed by a zoo, aquarium, non-profit organization, or government agency.

You will still register online, but on the payment screen, select the option to "Send Invoice".  You will be emailed an invoice that should be mailed in with your registration payment check within 30 days, or by Friday, August 14, whichever comes first. If registering after August 14, payment must be received by Friday, September 11, or you will not receive access to the virtual Conference.

We are only offering full registrations at this time. If you are unable to attend the virtual Conference on a particular day, you will be able to view recordings of the presentations.


All registrations are nonrefundable.

If you are unable to attend the virtual Conference live, you will still be able to view recordings of the sessions and presentations.

Yes, registrations can be transferred to another individual at your organization at no charge. However, if your registration was purchased at the member rate, the person receiving the registration must also be a member, or pay the fee difference.

Substitutions can be sent to the AZA Meetings Department.


Yes, there will be a virtual Exhibit Hall.
